Dr Ziad Al Bkhetan
Ziad has extensive experience in software engineering, machine learning and bioinformatics, including a PhD from the University of Melbourne and consultancy roles across Australia, the US and Canada.
Since joining BioCommons in March 2022, Ziad has provided his expertise to ABLeS communities through installation, deployment, optimisation and development of pipelines and tools. He coordinates compute allocations for life sciences communities through collaboration with ABLeS leads and compute infrastructure providers, plus leads the team behind the BioCommons Nextflow Seqera Service. In this role, Ziad ensures that Australian researchers have smooth and efficient access to Seqera Platform and can boost their research outcomes using Nextflow. When he isn’t helping these communities, Ziad enjoys playing soccer, hiking and getting out and about in nature.
