Dr Patrick Capon
Patrick is a passionate science communicator who focuses on keeping his content clear and simple. With a background in chemistry research (PhD, University of Adelaide, 2021) and communications for pharmaceutical industry clients, he has broad experience in delivering both in-person and online communication pieces to audiences ranging from niche specialists to the wider public.
Patrick particularly enjoys the challenge of distilling a complex research outcome into digestible chunks and explaining them to a new audience. Outside of work, Patrick loves to explore new areas, go fishing, and discuss all things sport-related - though he is pleased to say he remains an AFL fan, despite spending two years in rugby-centric Aotearoa/New Zealand and now living in rugby-mad Queensland!
Patrick's position is funded by Bioplatforms Australia and hosted by the University of Melbourne.
Patrick is physically based in Brisbane where his office space is provided by QCIF and RCC at the University of Queensland.
