Nakul Deshmukh
Nakul is a Certified Information Security Manager, and brings a wealth of experience in risk management practices, cybersecurity policies and regulations, hands-on technology practice including AWS, security architecture, and security frameworks such as ISO27001. With a background in consulting at Deloitte and Ashurst, Nakul joins BioCommons after securing APA Group, where he supported the risk management of Australia's critical energy infrastructure.
Nakul’s initial focus will be to prepare the Australian Cardiovascular disease Data Commons project for launch. He will also work on other sensitive data platforms, and help to improve security practices across all BioCommons platforms.
In his spare time, Nakul enjoys tinkering around with technology in his home lab, curating a library of music, and experiencing visual art (i.e. Netflix). He also spends time contributing to his family's not-for-profit; the Dreambridge Foundation.
Nakul’s position is funded by Bioplatforms Australia and hosted by the University of Melbourne.
