A group of Nextflow enthusiasts will come together in Sydney for the 2025 nf-core hackathon. For the first time, the international hackathon’s network of live sites will extend to Australia, allowing us to take part during our waking hours across 25-27 Mar 2025.

The global nf-core community curates a set of open‑source analysis pipelines built using Nextflow. The hackathon is for people with existing Nextflow skills who are interested in contributing to nf-core in collaborative teams. There will be a variety of projects to work on, and you can get hands-on experience contributing to projects alongside our local Nextflow Ambassadors. • Experience with nf-core is desirable

This event is open to anyone working in research related to life sciences with an interest in nf-core pipelines. The hackathon is not a training event, and it is not suitable for beginner Nextflow users.

You must register with the international event organisers and indicate that you intend to join the Australian BioCommons satellite meeting. The hackathon will be hosted by the Sydney Informatics Hub at the University of Sydney: Level 5 Auditorium, Moore College, 1 King Street, Newtown NSW. Lunch and light refreshments will be supplied to hackathon participants at the satellite site, but participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and other food expenses.
